It was built by the fifth Sikh guru, Guru Arjan, in the 16th Century. In 1604, Guru Arjan completed the Adi Granth, the holy scripture of Sikhism. There are four doors to get into the Harmandir Sahib, which symbolizes the openness of the Sikhs towards all people and religions. The Gurdwara is surrounded by a large lake or holy tank, known as the Sarovar, which consists of Amrit (holy water). Sri Harmandir Sahib is the heritage of the Sikh people gathered in their five hundred years old history.

Gurudwara Shri Atal Ji Sahib: Then visit Gurdwara Baba Atal: Gurudwara Shri Atal Ji Sahib is situated in the Distt City Amritsar. It is situated on the back side of Gurudwara Shri Harimandir Sahib. Baba Atal Rai was a son of Guru Hargobind, the sixth Guru of the Sikhs born at Amritsar on 23 October 1619. One day a young Atal Rai playmate was bitten by a snake and died. At seeing the boy's family crying over his body, Atal Rai bought his friend back to life. When Guru Hargobind heard of the miracle he admonished his son saying that "How can anyone interfere with the ways of God?". Baba Atal Rai was so distressed at hearing his father reprimand him that he withdrew to the side of the Kaulsar pool and said his prayers, lay down and gave up his life for the life that he had saved. After that, the Guru Hargobind ji ordered a temple built in Baba Atal’s honor. It stands still today - nine stories high and is called “Baba Atal.” Blessed are the saints who, merged with the Naam, sweetly understand and accept the Will of God.

Gurudwara Ramsar Sahib: Then visit Gurudwara Ramsar Sahib: Gurudwara Ramsar stands on the bank of the Ramsar sarovar, near Chativind Gate. The Ramsar Gurdwara is situated in the smallest of the five Sarovars in the holy city of Amritsar called Ramsar sarovar. It was built in 1855 at the site of the original shrine, where long before the present Gurdwara was constructed, Guru Arjun Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru who was looking for a quiet spot away from the growing city of Amritsar, chose this site as the spot where the Guru Granth Sahib would take form. In 1603, Guru Arjun Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru spent over a year in semi-seclusion along with his scribe, Bhai Gurdas to complete the holy Shri Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred Sikh scripture.

Gurudwara Manji Sahib: Then visit Gurudwara Manji Sahib: Gurudwara Sri Manji Sahib is situated in the city of Amritsar. Situated on the Tarn Taran road, Chattiwind gate, it marks the place where Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji wrote Sukhmani Sahib, sitting on the bank of Ramsar Sarovar under a ber tree. This sacred place is adjoining Gurudwara Sri Ramsar Sahib.

Gurudwara Baba Deep Singh Ji (shaheed Sahib): Then visit Gurudwara Baba Deep Singh Ji (shaheed Sahib): Shahid Baba Deep Singh Gurudwara, Amritsar The great Sikh scholar and martyr Baba Deep Singh was mortally wounded here. Baba Deep Singh ji was the leader of the famous " Shaheedan Di Misl " among the 12 misls. When Guru Gobind Singh came to Damdama Sahib, Baba ji was responsible for the distribution of the Guru Granth Sahib to other parts of the world and was the “head granthi” (head priest) of Damdama Sahib in Bathinda. He along with five thousand faithful Sikhs fought against the Muslim forces of Jahan Khan. It commemorates the unrivaled martyrdom of Baba Deep Singh ji who fought valiantly and dauntlessly along with thousands of Sikhs to liberate the Golden Temple from the defiled clutches of Afghani invaders in 1757. Gurudwara Shri Cheharta Sahib: After Breakfast, visit Gurdwaras Chheharta Sahib: Gurudwara Shri Cheharta Sahib is situated in the Amritsar City near village Guru Ki Wadali. Guru ki Wadali is the birthplace of the Sixth Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the son of Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. To celebrate the birth of his son, Guru Arjan Dev Ji constructed a big well at this place. This well had six Persian wheels to draw out the water and thus came to be known as Chheharta, the well with six wheels. This well helped in removing water scarcity in the region and enabled the greening of the fields. This well with Persian wheels is still preserved here.

Gurudwara San Sahib: Then visit Gurudwara San Sahib: Gurudwara Shri San Sahib is situated in the Amritsar. Guru Amar Das Ji was named next GURU by Guru Angad Dev Ji.This is the place where Guru Amar Das, the third Sikh Guru, stayed after coming back from Goindwal, having been ordered to leave Goindwal by Datu the son of Guru Angad Dev Ji, who was jealous at not being named the Guru by his father.

In Basarke, the Guru shut himself up in a small hut which stood at this place, with an instruction on the door that nobody should open the door, and if anybody tried to do it, neither would that person be a Sikh of his, nor would he be his guru. A group of disciples under the leadership of Baba Buddha Ji, one of the disciples of Guru Amar Das Ji, made a hole in the wall and pleaded with the guru to return. At last Guru Amar Das Ji returned with the Sikhs. The hole in the wall is still preserved today inside the Gurudwara Sahib.

Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib: Then visit Gurdwara Baba Budha Ji: Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib popularly known as Bir Sahib is the place where Baba Budha Ji spends many parts of his life (1506 - 1631). Baba Buddha is a unique personage in Sikhism. He was a contemporary of the first six Sikh Gurus and had personally performed the anointment ceremony for Gurus from second to sixth. In 1604 AD Baba Buddha became the first Granthi (priest of the Golden Temple and in that capacity completed the first path (perusal) of the Adi Granth.

Gurdwara Tarn Taran Sahib: Then visit Gurdwara Tarn Taran Sahib: Gurdwara Sri Tarn Taran Sahib is a gurdwara established by the fifth guru, Guru Arjan Dev, in the city of Tarn Taran Sahib, Punjab, India. It has the distinction of having the largest Sarovar (water pond) of all the Gurdwaras. It is famous for the monthly gathering of pilgrims on the day of Amavas (a no-moon night). Gurudwara Shri Khadoor Sahib Then Drive to Gurudwara Shri Khadoor Sahib is situated in the Khadoor Sahib city in Taran Taran Distt. The Eight Guru Sahibaans with their visits to this place made this land a Holy place. The GuruAngad Dev Ji settled here when he was married to Mata Khivi and raised their three children here. Guru Angad Dev established this as his religious center on the advice of Guru Nanak and spent the rest of his life living at Khadur.

Gurudwar Shri Goindwal Sahib Then proceed to Goindwal Sahib, Gurudwara Shri Baoli Sahib & Shri Goindwal Sahib is situated in the Goindwal Sahib in Taran Taran Distt. This is the first Sikh pilgrimage that was prepared under the supervision of Shri guru amar das ji in the year 1616 ad. Guru sahib then blessed this holy place and decreed that whosoever does 84 paths of Japji Sahib with a pure heart and baths in the BAOLI SAHIB shall be freed from the cycle of birth and death. Shri Guru Amardas Ji himself performed Seva of Gurdwara Baoli Sahib.

Gurudwara Sri Hatt Sahib Then proceed to Visit Gurudwara Sri Hatt Sahib is situated in the Sultanpur lodhi city in Kapurthala district. Guru Nanak ji was convinced by his family to accept employment here as the accountant of the provisions of Nawab Daulat Khan Lodhi. Guru Nanak ji got the job on the recommendations of his brother-in-law Jai Ram. The Nawab was very much impressed by the young Guru who would work diligently during the day and spend the evenings and nights singing the praises of God with his friends. After breakfast, later transfer to Airport/ Railway station to board the train for the onward journey.
